ONE LEG. ONE LIFE. NO EXCUSES.

A Story-Driven Guide to Resilience, Positivity, and Self-Leadership

By Atif Rashid, CPA, MBA

I have spent years standing on stages, speaking to rooms filled with professionals, students, leaders, and people quietly fighting their own battles. What I have learned is this: most people are not lacking strength, they are lacking belief in their own capacity to rise.

This book was born from lived experience. From growing up in silence. From crossing continents to build a future. From hearing the word “cancer.” From losing a leg. From rebuilding identity when everything familiar disappeared. Through it all, I discovered something deeper than resilience.

I discovered self-leadership.

One Leg. One Life. No Excuses. is the honest account of how adversity shaped me, and how reflection transformed that adversity into direction. It is a reminder that hardship can sharpen you, that responsibility creates freedom, and that the way you respond will always matter more than what happens to you.

If you are navigating pressure, transition, uncertainty, or quiet doubt, this book is an invitation. Not to be fearless. Not to be perfect. But to take ownership of your story, and choose who you become next.
